guideXOS Hypervisor is a related research effort focused on architecture emulation, VM and debug tooling, and future virtualization ideas that may support the broader guideXOS ecosystem over time. It is ambitious by design, but it should still be treated as experimental research rather than a finished platform.
What it is

- Useful for architecture portability, VM tooling, and debugging work.
What it is not
- Not production virtualization.
- Not required to use guideXOS or guideXOS Server.
- Not a finished replacement for Hyper-V, VMware, VirtualBox, or QEMU.

Relationship to guideXOS Server
guideXOS Server is the operating-system and systems-platform branch. guideXOS Hypervisor is the emulation and virtualization research branch. They may eventually complement each other, but they should not be treated as the same project.
Open guideXOS ServerFuture direction
- Controlled virtualization and hypervisor-level capabilities.
- User choice around hardware virtualization ownership.
- Allowing third-party virtualization tools to use VT-x or SVM when guideXOS ownership is disabled.
- Keeping software emulation available even when hardware virtualization ownership is disabled.
